Doing Business

Quantity and quality of economics are directly connected with business activity. Position of economics in the global economy depends on large number of factors and there is no one objective, indisputable list of them.

One of the most complex comparation of conditions for business activity is Doing Business ranking prepared by the World Bank. The first Doing Business report, published in 2003, covered 5 indicator sets and 133 economies. Last edition of the report ranked 183 economics, based on the knowledge of 9000 experts around the world and takes into account 10 groups of indicators.

The report is not providing full and complex information about the business environment in particular countries. Among the underlying indicators are: macroeconomic conditions, market size, workforce skills and security etc. Despite of clear drawback it contains key aspects of the regulatory and institutional environment that matter for firms.1 Directions contained in the report have contributed to changes of business regulation around the world - more than 1,750 improvements since 2004.2
